Seymour Marine Discovery Center

Join us for this daylong wellness retreat designed to treat your mind, body and heart!

March brings both International Women’s Month and the beginning of Spring. With the equinox comes an emphasis on new beginnings and a return to balance as the darkness of winter wanes. This is a time for nature to regrow and refresh, and for you to as well. We have curated a magical day to celebrate and honor this time of transition!

This experience is designed for all levels, for all women. This is a time for you to unwind, reflect and connect… at your own pace, on your own terms. This is for YOU.

————————————————

We’ve put together wonderful lineup of facilitators whose sessions will fill our day with a variety of self care modalities, from gua sha to yoga to deep relaxation and more. As with all of our events, we aim to highlight local women-run businesses, and are so excited to share more about the amazing services they offer our community!

We have chosen to host our retreat day at the Seymour Center for a couple of reasons. Spring can bring unpredictable weather- with Seymour’s beautiful space, we can enjoy being close to nature even if it’s an indoor rainy day. Set right on the coast on the edge of town, it feels so tucked away, yet is so close and convenient too. We’ll be spending the majority of the day in the La Feliz Room, a cozy and sweet private space with beautiful views of the coast. If it is sunny (it will be!), we’ll have the patio and trails to enjoy as well.

We are delighted to share that as part of our retreat experience, attendees will also get to end the day enjoying the aquarium and beauty of Seymour’s space, all to ourselves! Self-care means many things- while the majority of this retreat day will be focused around nurturing your body and mind with holistic wellness offerings, we thought it’d be a special treat to end the day with some pampering of a different kind: a sunset wind down mingling with friends. Whether you fancy a hot cup of tea or glass of wine, this will be an opportunity to connect, sip and enjoy this unique setting for our final hour together.

Space is limited in an effort to keep this intimate and comfortable for all attendees.

Deva Cassandra:

Déva has been practicing acupuncture in Santa Cruz for the past 9 years. She provides an integrative approach to health and beauty, rooted in the wisdom of Asian Medicine. The focus of her practice is women's health, cosmetic acupuncture and facial gua sha. She provides a path for those who desire to look and feel luminous.

For this retreat…

During this session we will explore Facial Gua Sha and Lymphatic Health together. We’ll discuss the cultural uses of gua sha and about the benefits of caring for the lymphatic system. Together we will do a simple and effective lymphatic massage followed by a wonderful facial gua sha routine.

Rachelle Campbell:

Since 2010, Rachelle has shared the pacific island root kava, embracing its ancient Hawaiian ceremony traditions for intentional gatherings. In her mission to offer a safe, holistic alternative for mood improvement, she created a small line of kava products through the creation of Ohana Kava. Beyond kava, Rachelle integrates yoga, meditation, and breathwork, holding certifications from Yoga Alliance and Aluna Healing.

For this retreat….

Rachelle enjoys witnessing lives transform from the use of these ancient and effective tools. She believes there is profound magic that happens when women gather together in an intentional way, which is why retreats are so powerful for her. She is honored to educate and guide you through a kava ceremony for this retreat.

Jeri: Ross:

Jeri is a Licensed Health Educator with a Masters Degree in Public Health (MPH). She is a Life Coach, Author and Shamanic Practitioner. Her practice focuses on helping women manifest their unique gifts by learning how to listen and follow their inner wisdom and intuition as a loving and transcendent guide.

For this retreat…

For this closing session, we will explore shamanism and journeying together. Shamanism is way of life practiced by ancient indigenous cultures for thousands of years. It is based on the wisdom that everything in life- the plants, stones, sky, animals, humans etc- has a soul and that all souls are connected in the web of life. Journeying helps us open our ability to connect with our helping spirits and strengthens our intuition. These relationships developed through journeying can give us renewed faith, hope, courage and a feeling of belonging... a comforting knowing that we are never alone and that we are loved unconditionally.
