Breast Cancer Awareness + Wellness - Tues Oct 15th
Tuesday, October 15th
5:30-8:00pm
---------------------
Please join us for this empowering FREE talk led by three amazing and knowledgeable resources!
--This is an event for women, by women, about women--
As you may know, Vita is run by three local women: Emilia, Natalie and Hannah. One and a half years ago, Hannah was diagnosed with breast cancer, and has been sharing her journey along the way since. As we enter October- Breast Cancer Awareness Month- we wanted to create an event for our community focused on this important topic.
Dana Ramsey, a Certified Nurse Midwife who helps women navigate their gynecology, pregnancy, postpartum and menopausal challenges, will discuss the prevalence and risks of breast cancer, lifestyle prevention strategies as well as the importance of regular screening and self breast exams. She will also discuss genetic and hereditary types of breast cancer and how testing for genetic mutations can lead to improved outcomes and early detection.
Talya Lutzker, a Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner and massage therapist, will empower us with lymphatic health education and practical techniques to maintain healthy breast tissue. She will also lead everyone through a self-breast exam.
Hannah Brame will be opening up about her personal journey with breast cancer, offering insights into her experience navigating the diagnosis and treatment process. A pivotal part of her story is the genetic mutation she carries, which significantly increased her risk of developing breast cancer. By sharing how this knowledge empowered her to make proactive health decisions, she hopes to raise awareness about the importance of genetic testing and early detection. Her story serves as both a source of hope and education for others who may be facing similar challenges.
We hope you'll be able to join us for this educational and empowering evening together.
Big thank you to the sponsors of this event: Nurture Santa Cruz + The Circle Family Center. Thank you, Dana, for making this possible with us, and thank you, Kim, for donating your space for this sweet event. We can’t think of a better place to host this intimate gathering of women!
We’ll provide light snacks and festive mocktails.
This event is free to attend - space is limited so if you snag a ticket and then cannot come, please let us know as soon as possible so we can create a space for someone else on the waitlist. ♡
We look forward to seeing you!!
